At the Age of 47

In a big study, David Blanchflower discovered that on average, people in developed countries are the most unhappy at the age of 47, and he speculated on the reasons. Other studies have shown different reasons for the fall and rise of our happiness. (Fans of Marianne Faithfull may appreciate the title of this post.)
