Helicopter parenting seems to be a reasonable approach in an environment of great inequality. Although you have to wonder about the long term effect on the kids.

Good points and China is also worse for helicopter parents in the middle classes. China also tops the world inequality charts as well, surprisingly above US

We have to let kids be kids, but direct them in a manner that helps them develop their strengths into modes of success. Do you mind if I share some of your work with commentary on my site? This brought up a great point for me as it relates to the practical aspects of parenting.
