Companies are given more and more power over the lives of people, yet those same people keep voting for politicians who give the power to the companies.

We think people don’t vote for their own self interest, but they do. That interest is to protect the status quo and that means white power. That is the most important issue, especially to white male voters. They are afraid of loosing power, and Trump tells them in so many ways, he will protect that power. Woman do not buy into this argument as much because they have no history of holding power.

I agree. People aren’t particularly rational and are driven mainly by fear. And when it comes to politics, also by resentment.
